Some minor discomfort is to be expected following your dental implant placement surgery. Here are a few tips to make your recovery as easy as possible:
In some cases, your dentist may prescribe pain medication. However, most patients do fine with over-the-counter medications. Take these as directed.
Ice packs on the cheeks and jaw can help reduce pain and swelling. Place the ice packs on your face for about 20 minutes at a time.
It is best to stick to soft foods for about a week after your All-on-4 implant placement. This will help reduce irritation to the surgical site.
For about the first week, keep your head elevated when you sleep by propping yourself up with pillows. This can help reduce swelling.
