Introducing Dental Implants: The Best Solution for Missing Teeth
Dental implants are titanium prosthetic tooth roots that provide the ultimate stability for dental crowns, bridges, and dentures. After our Los Algodones dentist surgically inserts an implant into your jawbone, the titanium becomes permanently fused to the bone tissue. The result is a stable, supremely functional foundation for a restored bite.
Thanks to this solution, people with missing teeth have options beyond crowning healthy teeth for a dental bridge or suffering with an unstable denture that shifts out of place. Dental implants restore virtually the same level of function that natural teeth provide. Best of all, they can last the rest of your life with proper dental care.
Three Reasons Why You Should Consider Implants
They offer the best fit for your smile.
If you're missing a few teeth, you could choose to receive a bridge, but that requires crowning at least two healthy natural teeth. Missing all of your teeth? You can pick a traditional denture, but it may be prone to slipping and shifting when you eat and speak. By supporting your restorations with implants from our Los Algodones dental clinic, they'll stay stable.
They keep your jaw healthy.
When there are no tooth roots to stimulate the jawbone, it will begin to shrink and change shape. In time, it can cause your surrounding natural teeth to shift and your face to age prematurely. Luckily, implants provide the stimulation needed to maintain your jaw tissue.
They can last a lifetime.
One of the biggest benefits of implants is their longevity. With the right care, yours may last decades, or even a lifetime. That means you'll only need implant surgery once, which is often reassuring for any nervous patients considering our Los Algodones practice.Types of Dental Implants Offered by Our Los Algodones Team
Traditional Implants
Traditional dental implants can be used to support virtually any type of restoration. These titanium implants are inserted into the jaw, and once integration with the bone tissue is complete, we can attach an abutment piece to the top of the implant, which will connect to your dental crown, bridge, or denture. A single implant can support a crown, bridges require at least two implants, and it takes six to eight traditional implants to support a full denture. After your dental work is complete, your smile will look completely natural.
All-on-4
Patients missing most or all the teeth along an arch can be candidates for All-on-4®. This method involves four implants, two of which are placed at angles in the back of the jaw to maximize contact with the existing bone tissue. The angled implants make it possible for those who have suffered some degree of bone recession to receive implants without needing a bone graft. (If you do need a bone graft, our practice can provide it prior to implant placement surgery.) Most dental patients can receive a denture immediately after All-on-4 placement.
All-on-6
The All-on-4 solution may not be able to provide the level of support all denture wearers need. In this case, we can incorporate two additional implants. The All-on-6® approach is similar to All-on-4 in that it often makes bone grafting unnecessary and can support a denture immediately after implant placement surgery. During your dental treatment consultation, our Los Algodones dentist will conduct a thorough assessment of your smile to determine which solution is best for your needs.

"Top notch and professional."
I have gone to St Thomas Dental Center for 3 years and although there are a lot of choices, I would not go anywhere else. Their service and work are awesome, quick and professional. I advise all my friends and family who need dental work to always call St Thomas. A friend of mine who had an implant issue for over 6 years but could not get it fixed in the US had it corrected in 30 minutes at St Thomas. Best decision she ever made and she is grateful.
View On GoogleI'm back at home a week after visiting with the team at St Thomas Dental. I had actually contacted another facility in Los Algodones, but got a better "feel" from St Thomas. I must say that my treatment was absolutely top notch and professional. I arrived on Monday, the game plan was laid, and I was on my way home Thursday with all work completed for the session and zero plain or swelling. US dentists could learn something from this team.

At St. Thomas Dental Center in Los Algodones, you can receive the same caliber of dental care you would expect in the U.S. at about one-third the cost.

How Do I Know If I'm Eligible for Dental Implants?
Sufficient Bone
Our team wants to prepare you for success from the beginning. It's important that we make sure your jaw has enough bone tissue to support implants.
Otherwise, they won't be able to fuse properly.
Healthy Gums
From swelling and gum pain to even tooth loss, the effects of periodontal disease are often evident in patients seeking dental implants. We'll make sure that your gums are completely healthy before planning your dental implant treatment.
No Tobacco Use
If you currently smoke or use tobacco products, you should know that this can lead to implant failure.
At the very least, you will need to quit before your surgery, as well as throughout the healing process.
Not a Candidate? Our Dentists May Be Able to Help
Even if you're not ready for implants at the moment, we offer certain procedures to improve your eligibility. For instance, we can provide any necessary gum treatment and tooth extractions prior to your procedure.
Don't have enough bone for implants? Our Los Algodones team can conduct bone grafting or a sinus lift (gentle elevation of the sinus membranes combined with augmentation of the upper jaw) to help your jaw support implants. Once your jaw has healed, usually in three to six months, we can proceed with your implants.
Placing Traditional Dental Implants At Our Los Algodones Office
Our dental work isn't just reasonably priced; it can also provide lasting results thanks to our skilled dentists, who are active members of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
We Stand out From Other Los Algodones Dental Clinics
